Go Vocal is looking for a freelance Product Designer to join us on our mission to enable millions of people in cities across the globe to shape the future of their communities.

We're seeking an experienced Product Designer to join our team on a flexible retainer basis. You'll work closely with our Head of Product, our Senior Product Designer and engineering team to shape user experiences that make civic engagement accessible and impactful for both administrators and residents:

Your focus:

  • Design intuitive workflows for complex enterprise features (permissions, integrations, multi-department collaboration)

  • Audit and refine existing platform UX/UI, based on user research and feedback

  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and design systems components

  • Collaborate with product and engineering in 8-week development cycles (Shape Up methodology)

Job requirements

What we're looking for


Must-haves:

  • 4+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B/B2G SaaS

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design (not just visual design)

  • Experience designing for complex workflows and enterprise users

  • Proficiency in state-of-the-art design tools (Figma preferred) and AI design tooling

  • Self-directed work style suited to async collaboration


Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with civic tech, govtech, or mission-driven products

  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design

  • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries


Engagement details

  • Commitment: ~40 hours/month on retainer / 2000 EUR/month* (*Depending on location)

  • Duration: Minimum 3 months (potential for long-term partnership)

  • Location: Fully remote (European time zones preferred)

  • Start: ASAP
